A Rather Big Pile of Rocks…

After our first week of UniCamp we spent the weekend enjoying some time off to recover and re-energize for the coming week. On Saturday we took a trip to Quiver Tree Forest, about a half an hour drive from Keetmanshoop. The term ‘forest’ in the UK is related to a large, green area covered in a variety of trees and shrubbery but in Namibia a forest is a rather dry and sparse landscape. The quiver trees are said to be good luck to anyone who nurtures them, hopefully this will bring us luck for the following week’s press conference and campaign launch! Afterwards, we went to the Giant’s Playground, which consisted of a large expanse of dolorite rocks. Following some intense yoga poses and some rock n roll jingles (no pun intended) we admired the sunset. It was a great way to round off our first week of UniCamp and look forward to the week ahead.
